Dan Roddy

Ex Officio

Arizona State Parks & Trails

Dan Roddy has been with the Arizona State Park & Trails since Nov 2016. After starting as the Assistant Park Manager at Cattail Cove State Park near Lake Havasu City, Roddy was promoted to Park Manager of Tonto Natural Bridge State Park in Payson, AZ after one year. Roddy has been serving in his current role as Park Manager of Lake Havasu State Park since Nov 2018.

Born and raised in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Roddy first worked for the Cleveland Heights Park & Recreation Department as a Lifeguard in the 1980's. A graduate of Marquette University, Roddy entered the parks field again in 1997, this time for the Milwaukee County Parks. Capitalizing on his private business experience in the food & beverage industry, Roddy began by managing golf clubhouses for the County agency. Over the following 16 years, Roddy's expanded areas of supervision included an Ice Arena, Softball Stadium, the Philippine Community Center and thousands of acres of urban parks.

Roddy returned to the Cleveland area in 2013. At Oberlin College, Roddy worked as a Property Manager in the Buildings and Grounds department. After his position was eliminated due to budget constraints, Roddy looked for a return to the field of parks and recreation. This search led to Arizona.

During his tenure with ASPT, Dan has twice been recognized as a member of the agency's Team of The Year. During the October 2023 APST All Employee Conference, Roddy also received an Employee of The Year Award. Roddy was also recognized as the Lake Havasu City Tourism Professional of The Year in 2021 for his efforts at Lake Havasu State Park during the COVID pandemic.

Dan Roddy is also a Founding Board Member for Kids On the Colorado River and serves on the board of the Lake Havasu Marine Association.

In addition to his career in parks & recreation, Dan has significant special event experience. The PGA Tour, NBA, WI State Fair and Summerfest Music Festival are among the notable clients and partners. Restaurant positions have included corner family businesses and multi-national corporate chains.
